We know many of you are already asking question about how things work and have suggestions about how things should work. So we are going to list a few of them here so that it hopefully answers some of the question you have about the website.

Uploaded images are cropped all weird
For our alpha launch, we have a simple image upload tool that just crops the uploaded image by the longest side to make it a perfect square. We know this sucks when it cuts off the images weird so don’t worry, we have been working on a tool that lets you edit the image before it uploads. The new tool will let you resize the images crop area and move it around the image until you are happy with how it will be cropped. Then you can submit a perfect square shaped image.

Uploading Images from desktop sucks
Yea we know it a huge hassle to download images and then upload it so we are working on feature that works just like the “share link” feature on Facebook. The way it works is that when you put a URL link in when creating a topic, the system will automatically search that link for images and then compile them into the image preview window with arrows that will let you scroll through the images until you find the one you like.

What about spelling errors?
We know there are spelling errors and it sucks that you can update errors when you’ve made them but there will be some features we’ll be adding to prevent and solve these issues in the future. First is that we’ll be change the text boxes for topics and options so that it will utilize spell checking. This will at least partially help prevent misspellings however if you still manage to misspell something or you find misspellings as you view topics, you can easily report it and one of our moderators will fix the errors as soon as they can.

There’s also another trick that you can use. If you just created a topic and you noticed that there were misspellings in the opinions, you can still change them if no other users have contributed to it yet. All you have to do is click on the “View My Opinion” button at the bottom of the topic and this will show a popup, then click on “Edit My Opinion”, once you are back on the edit your opinion page, you can remove the opinion with the misspellings and write in the new correct opinion in it’s place. Once you submit the changes, the system will automatically remove the opinion with the misspelling since no one has used it yet.

Uploading images for topics that don’t have images yet
We will be adding a feature that let you click on the default icon for topics that don’t have specific images yet and this will prompt the upload image feature which will let you add an image to the existing topic.

Reporting Issues
We are working on a report issues link which will be at the bottom of every topic which will allow you to select an issue type and write a short description if needed for the issue you are reporting.

Can people follow me and see only my opinions.
Not yet but they will in our next major release, we are creating some features called channels and groups. When our admin is complete you will be able to create a watchlist which shows all the topics you are watching, and you will be able to see all the topics you’ve created or given your opinion to. You will also be able to make your watchlist public which will make it a channel, people can then subscribe to your channel and watch them as well. Channels will be all the topics in your watchlist. We will also create groups which are multiuser channels where many people are contributing to the watchlist for that group.

The primary purpose of baduku is to share public collective opinions but we also understand how much people want to share their own personal opinions. Once channels are made public users will be able to view both your own opinions for a topic or the public one and be able to switch between the two easily.
