Usage Guidlelines
We don't ask much of you but here are few guidelines that hope you will follow to keep Baduku a safe and clean place for everyone to enjoy.
- Avoid Profanity When Possible (You can use it when it is absolutely necessary such as in the case where profanity was use literally in a title of a something or is being quoted)
- Pronography is not allowed
- Spamming is not allowed (examples of spamming include creating duplicates of the same topic or opinons in an attempt to distort the ranking or score)
- No Identifiable Personal/Private Information (Do not include any personal or private information in either topics or opinons such as phone numbers, addresses, emails, etc.)
- Topics about real people must be notable (When creating a topic about an individual they must meet the minimum notariety standards, our measure of notariety would be if they exist on Wikipedia.org, then they can exist here, else it is not allowed)
- Improper opinion placement (This includes place opinons that would generally be negative on the "The Goods" column or vice versa.)
Tips
Here are a few tips for building a great Baduku community:
- Don't create new topics when they already exist: Doing so will just add more unnecessary topics about the same thing and will eventually dilute the participation into two seperate topics. Eventually we will merge similar topics but avoiding it now can save us the trouble and we appreciate that.
- Agree with existing opinions if they are close enough: When you begin adding your own opinions to a topic, you'll be given recommended opinions that already exist. If they are close enough to what you were going to say then it's better to agree with it by adding it to your list because that will make that particular opinon stronger. Otherwise, new opinons will start out with only 1 vote which will put them at the bottom of the list and harder for them to grow over time.
- Create new opinions if you believe in them: Agree when you can but it is also just as important to add new opinions if you think they are unique enough and are more likely to be sought out by others.
